Why We Like It
Pen + Paper Patterns is known for cute block-based quilt patterns, and Folk Blooms is no exception. Columns of flowers in bloom - ridiculously cute!
Choose to use either yardage or fat quarters: either version is equally adorbs. If you make the fat quarter version, each FQ is cut exactly the same, so it's easy to cut and it's fun to mix and match colors for so many fun color combinations. And since it's block-based, it's fun to sew in a group.
The fabric requirements are simple, and it looks great in our solids!
Tips + Tutorials
- The pattern features instructions with diagrams throughout, a really helpful fat quarter cutting diagram, a coloring page, and cut-out tags to keep fabric organized.
- If making the FQ version, you'll have one block leftover. You could piece it into the quilt back, or make an 18" pillow cover using our free pattern: Patchwork Pillow Cover.

IF USING FAT QUARTERS:
You'll need 13 fat quarters plus 3 yards for background/binding. You'll have a block leftover - perfect for a pillow!
3-Color
Choose 13 fat quarters from 3 of our Monochrome 5 FQ bundles (these left out the darkest FQ of 2 of the bundles).
Analogous
Choose 3 neighboring colors on the CMY Color Wheel and you get an analogous color combo. Here are some ideas on light, medium, and dark backgrounds.
Orange + Red + Red Magenta:
Pillow options:
Triad
Combine 3 colors that form a triangle on the color wheel, and you get these fun versions. Again, grab 3 of our 5FQ bundles, a few yards of background, and make a throw quilt!
Orange + Violet + Green Cyan:
Red Magenta + Blue Cyan + Yellow Green:

2-Color
Choose 13 fat quarters from 2 of our Monochrome 9 fat quarter bundles (these left out some of the darkest colors). You'll have some extra FQs, and again, you'll have a block leftover for a pillow. Here are some ideas on light/med/dark backgrounds:
